As the world of soccer embraces the shift away from natural grass to synthetic turf, so to does Australia’s most popular summer sport – cricket.

Cricket Australia, in partnership with the AFL made the decision a few years ago to license a handful of companies to make and build a Cricket Australia/AFL approved surface for non- elite competition. Consistent with its global policy to remain the #1 in synthetic turf, FieldTurf secured a license and became an AFL/CA approved supplier. Consequently TurfOne can design, build, and maintain a synthetic turf cricket oval to the exacting standards the AFL/CA demands. We also have a range of short pile turf specially designed and made to cover concrete pitches for grade cricket, and for practice nets.

A real headache for clubs and Councils is the twice yearly changeover from club cricket to a football code. Turf One developed an ingenious solution for the cricket pitch which allows it to be raised and lowered hydraulically in order that the oval can cater for the playing of both cricket and a football code at elite level.

This unique system was first installed at Northbridge Oval, NSW where the entire 30x3m pitch is covered with soccer turf during the football season and raised during summer when the overlay is removed so that the surface of the wicket is level with the outfield providing a safe transition between the two surfaces.

In one step Turf One has solved the perennial problem by eliminating the potential trip hazard and thus ensuring player welfare and minimizing risk exposure.

Our service offer can include a complete design and construct, or just re-surfacing of worn out or damaged surfaces for local cricket clubs or private residences.

And because Turf One is a specialist in all facets of artificial turf, we also offer a regular and comprehensive maintenance package to ensure your investment is looked after year in year out.
